Additional information
Leading Aircraftman John Richardson from Keswick, Cumberland (now Cumbria) served with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve during WW2. Evidently a well loved family member, John Richardson was the son of George and Ann Ellen Richardson and the husband of Kathleen Richardson (nee Robinson) of Keswick, whom he had married in 1931.
LAC John Richardson died on 20 April 1944 and was buried in St John's Churchyard, Keswick (Grave Reference Plot A No 52). While death may have parted John and Kathleen Richardson in 1944, the epitaph on his headstone makes it clear that their love for each other remained.
Thus, when Mrs Kathleen Richardson passed away on 10 August 1985 she was laid to rest with her husband. Once more, they were reunited on earth and in the everafter.
The inscription on their headstone reads as follows:
" In ever loving remembrance of JOHN, dearly loved husband of KATHLEEN RICHARDSON, who died April 20th 1944, aged 36 years.
And his dear wife KATHLEEN, who died August 10th 1985, aged 76 years.
Death will part but Love remaineth".
