A nice surprise from HMS Maidstone
I have just found this postcard behind another photo I was checking to see if it had any writing on the back. It has added another piece of the jigsaw that was my "Uncle Jimmy".

Your uncle Jimmy was certainly well connected in 1939 - not too many people would have had one of these cards from Christmas - your time would indicate PST ???
I must be thick Tom but you wilhave to spell out the "PST" for me.

That's the easiest one I've had for a long time - Iswitched over last night and caught your message at about 11:40 p.m. PST - which is Pacific Standard Time as opposed to GMT - Greenwich etc so I thought that you must be a resident of the west coast of North America - as I am ! -

What an interesting collection of photographs and cards you have! It is as good as I have seen. Many museums won't have as good a collection. You should make sure you have made copies for your own use or other family members.
