The Africa Star that wasn't !

Peter spotted this boo-boo on the official MOD site and they have now promised to put it right. If you havn't spotted it already, the Light Blue stripe should be on the right and only one clasp can be worn.

Ron-
I just think that their instructions as to the wearing of such a medal is typical - "The Dark Blue Stripe should be worn furthest from the left shoulder" - do they mean nearer to the right shoulder.
Ye olde instructions were more understandable - "The Dark blue stripe should be close to the centre of the chest as the medal and ribbon are worn on the left breast !"

We still have that impossible image eight days after notifying them. Anyone wearing that combination would be howled down as an impostor, since the 'North Africa 1942-43' clasp can only be awarded to someone who does not qualify for either of the other two.

I think either Ron or I could change that image in less than 5 minutes, yet here we are over a week later and still nothing has happened.

Peter - you must recall from your days in the Civil(sic)sevice that no one can make cahnges at the drop of a hat - there has to be circulars sent out - memos to supervisors - answers received - memo's to "upstairs" - memo's to downstairs for clarifications - more circulars - upstairs again - finaly a decision - after lunch ! THEN the changes happen very soon afterwards !

The ribbon has now been corrected, so that's that. Well, not quite, the new image still shows the ribbon with an impossible three clasps.
